China’s AI spherical robot cop can capture criminals, patrol streets
Chinese law enforcement agencies have been reported to have initiated tests of an autonomous spherical robot.
The spherical robocop in use is named RT-G, developed by home-grown robotics company Logon Technology.
Engineered for extreme environments, RT-G is capable of navigating both land and water at speeds of 22 mph (35 km/h) while withstanding impacts up to 8,818 pounds (4 tons).
However, its most remarkable feature lies in its urban patrol capabilities. Powered by advanced AI, the RT-G assists law enforcement by identifying and immobilizing criminals, enhancing public safety.

Last month, Logon Technology unveiled their versatile autonomous robot RT-G. A promotional video showcased the RT-G navigating challenging terrains such as mud and water, demonstrating its resilience.
However, its most striking feature is its role as an urban patrol assistant. Equipped with sophisticated AI, the robot can identify and immobilize criminals, offering a glimpse into its potential as a game-changer for public safety.
According to Oddity Central, initially perceived by some as a marketing gimmick, the RT-G has swiftly moved from concept to reality. Within two months of its unveiling, these robotic patrol units have been spotted on city streets, working alongside human officers.
This development highlights the growing integration of robotics in law enforcement, blending technology with traditional policing methods to enhance safety and efficiency.
Now, footage reveals the autonomous spherical robot patrolling city streets, utilizing advanced AI to detect and respond to criminal activity.
Developed by Logon Technology, the RT-G is designed for versatility, operating on land and water while withstanding impacts of up to four tons. Weighing 125kg and reaching speeds of 22mph (35 km/h), it proves resilient in extreme environments, from rough terrain to mud.
According to The Sun, the RT-G’s AI capabilities include facial recognition to identify known criminals and detect disturbances. It can alert law enforcement or autonomously immobilize suspects using a built-in net gun. Other non-lethal gear includes tear gas sprayers, grenades, and sound-wave dispersal devices, ensuring adaptability in various scenarios.
